Today is my first wedding of the year.

I woke up this morning fully knowing that my bride, Lauren, woke up with butterflies in her stomach.  I was a bride before I was a wedding planner, so I remember the feelings of anticipation and nerves.  Every morning of every wedding I have ever had the privilege of being a part of has started with butterflies.  Butterflies because I can imagine how my bride is feeling as she wakes up on her wedding day.  Butterflies because of all the details that I have to handle and oversee. Butterflies because of my deep desire to make this day absolutely perfect.

After all this time nothing has become routine about my work or my role.  I am as passionate and as much as a perfectionist as I was on day one.  And yes, I still cry at every wedding.  My couples and their families are precious to me.  This is way more than just a job for me and I’m so blessed to be the person who makes it all come together so they can celebrate.

Congratulations to Lauren and Mike!  I’m so honored to be a part of your day.

So off I go….full of excitement and anticipation.

And butterflies.
