Robin and Ryan are so sweet, so adorable, so funny, and SO ready tie the knot this October in a gorgeous rustic wedding at my favorite barn venue.  I couldn’t be more excited for them!  Every time I hang out with these two I leave feeling inspired by how authentic their love is (and by Robin’s fashion sense – I secretly want to be her shopping buddy) and how at ease they are together.

Robin shares a little about their love story, how Ryan proposed, and their wedding planning experience below.  Enjoy their story and their gorgeous engagement photos by the awesome Limelife Photo.

We met in the summer of 2007 when Ryan moved into a house with one of my friends, Brian, from high school. Ryan and Brian had met when they both worked as firemen at San Pasqual Fire Department and later the U.S. Forest Service. I was invited over to see Brian’s new house and was told he lived with three other firefighters, so of course I went! And the rest is history!

Ryan had told me that his grandmother was going to be coming down for dinner with the family and suggested we go up to Mount Soledad before dinner to which I agreed. We walked around for a little bit before heading over to the south side of the mountain. I made a beeline to the bench, but Ryan wanted to stop me before I was able to sit down so he said, “Hey Robin..” and when I turned around, he was down on one knee with the ring! I was so surprised that I muttered a bunch of expletives before the photographer, whom Ryan had hired to capture the moment, approached me and asked if I had said yes. I said yes, and then Ryan told me that we were not actually having dinner with his grandma, but that all of our family and friends were waiting for us at a restaurant!

Our favorite part of wedding planning has been meeting with all of the different vendors! We love finding the one company that we totally click with and are excited to work with! And the cake tasting has been pretty delicious, too!

We are most excited about getting to marry each other and spend the rest of our lives together! It feels like we have been doing so much planning, we’re excited to see it all in action on our big day!

If you can afford one, hire a wedding planner! Trying to plan a wedding alone can be so overwhelming, especially when you don’t even know where to start! Working with Alison has been such an ease and has made this experience so much more fun, enjoyable and easy!
