Saint Paul’s UMC & Coronado Community Center // Celina & TJ
I can easily think of one word to describe Celina and TJ – DYNAMIC! We loved working with Celina on her wedding and knew from the moment we met with her and her mother, Rochelle, that this was going to be a FUN wedding!
Celina and TJ met and fell in love in San Diego, while TJ was stationed here with the military, but half way into planning their Coronado wedding they moved to Virginia, where TJ was newly stationed. Because we knew this move was coming we did as much of the planning as we could in the two months prior to Celina’s move.
Celina wanted everything custom – no cookie cutter wedding here – but wasn’t sure on her theme. I created an inspiration board for Celina with a mardi gras theme that incorporated her favorite colors of green and purple, as well as fun design elements such as masks, beads, and peacock feathers. She loved it and all the pieces began to really come together.
Celina had a difficult time finding just the right shade of green for her chair covers. We decided that my team would make them all in-house. We created 250 custom green taffeta chairs covers with purple taffeta sashes over a two-month period. The hard work paid off and the end result was exactly what Celina wanted.
Although Celina loved the layout of the Coronado Community Center, she really wanted to transform the room and make the space her own. I suggested we bring columns in to add some visual depth to the room. We also added up-lighting and the room was so fresh and funky – exactly what Celina and TJ wanted.
Celina later said, “I am so amazed at all that you were able to do for my wedding!”.
It was an absolute pleasure, Celina & TJ! xoxo!
