Even though Valentines Day is a majorly commercialized day, I still love what it represents and always think of all the lovely brides out there accepting proposals around this holiday.  As a married gal, I am always excited to see what my husband will come up with to show his love.  Admittedly, I am not the easiest person to shop for or surprise, so flowers and chocolate do little for me.  Poor Mark.  But if his gifts have depth and humor – score!  : )

With Valentines Day right around the corner I thought it would be fun to look at some lovely inspiration to get the creativity flowing and a few ideas on how to make the most of the day.

Decor: Adding a few love-inspired decor items to your home creates the romantic atmosphere.  I love these ideas that I found via Pinterest.

Using yarn to decorate is so fun!  The texture is pretty and its warm and versatile.  Love this idea.

I think I might use this idea in my office.  Perfect for this wedding planner who loves love…and clipboards. :)

Food: What is Valentines day without sweet treats?!  Here are some pretty goodies and a super easy recipe too!

A little food coloring, a heart-shaped cookie cutter and BAM – adorable pancakes.

Red Velvet Cheesecake Milkshake

Yield: 1 Milkshake

4 scoops Bluebell Vanilla Ice Cream
a big handful (about 1/2 cup) Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownie scraps
1/4 cup whole milk
Whipped cream, as desired

In a blender, combine ice cream, scraps, and milk. Puree until smooth.

Pour into a frosted glass and garnish with whipped cream and a few more chopped up scraps.

Gifts ideas that I LOVE – and you might too:

Oh, I have no words….

Well actually I do.  This. Is. Hilarious.  I love to cook and I love me a good parody.

If there were ever an occasion for suggestive body wash, Valentines Day would be it.  And seriously, what woman wouldn’t love organic and paraben-free body wash in an old school glue bottle?!

Whether you’re in a seasoned relationship or a new relationship, everyone needs a tiebreaker at some point.  :)

Dinner at an amazing restaurant, dancing at a swanky jazz club, and a quick get-away to a romantic inn/B&B are all winners in my book as well.

Guys: start planning now!  Valentines Day is a little more than two weeks away.  If you’re planning on proposing to your love, I can help you set up something beautiful!  <— Insert plug here.
