Ranch is quite possibly my favorite way to dress a salad and it’s no surprise since its base is mayonnaise, which is my favorite condiment.  Unfortunately most ranch dressing sold in non-health food stores are full of preservatives and sugar, so you can either go without (sad day) or you can make your own.  I promise making ranch is way easier than you might expect and tastes so much better than the store-bought stuff too!  You’ll love it so much you’ll never go back!

Homemade Ranch Dressing
Prep time: 10 minutes
Yield: 3 cups

2 cups mayonnaise (making mayo is a bit more difficult only because emulsifying can be a pain, so if you buy store bought mayo go with a brand with clean ingredients and no sugar like Primal Kitchen or Sir Kensington’s.
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon minced fresh dill
1 teaspoon minced fresh chives
1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Pink Himalayan sea salt, to taste
Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend on high until everything is well combined.  If you want a creamier ranch, add a little more lemon juice but be careful it doesn’t become too tart.  I store mine in a mason jar in the fridge and use within one week.
